Merrymaxxing Christmas Junk Journal Printable Collection

If you love a Christmas with lots of colour, pretty decorations, ribbons, bows and all those lovely little details that make the festive season feel extra special, then I think you’re going to enjoy this new collection!

After creating my Coastal Christmas collection, I wanted to explore a different kind of festive style, so this time I’ve gone for something a little more colourful and over the top! Inspired by the more-is-more, maximalist Christmas trend, I’ve called this new collection Merrymaxxing Christmas, and it’s all about embracing the fun of Christmas with plenty of colour, vintage-inspired illustrations, beautiful decorations and lots of lovely little details to play with.

Think beautifully decorated Christmas trees, ornate baubles, big bows, festive wreaths, wrapped presents and a charming vintage Santa, all brought together with coordinating papers and journaling elements. And of course, there are plenty of pinks and greens, along with a warm apricot colour that I’m loving!

A Colourful, Maximalist Christmas

When I started putting this collection together, I wanted to capture that feeling of going all out at Christmas. You know, when one bow simply isn’t enough, there’s room for another bauble, and everything looks just a little bit more special with a few extra decorations!

The colour palette brings together blush pink, raspberry pink, cranberry, apricot, evergreen and warm ivory. It’s a little different from a traditional red and green Christmas palette, but it still has that lovely nostalgic Christmas feeling, with the pinks and apricot adding a playful, colourful twist.

I’ve used these colours throughout the collection so that the different pieces work together, whether you’re making a little folio, decorating your journal pages or putting together a more elaborate Christmas journaling spread.

And that’s one of my favourite things about creating a coordinated collection. You can mix and match the different elements without having to worry too much about whether everything will work together.

Merrymaxxing Christmas Junk Journal Folio Kit

First up is the Merrymaxxing Christmas Junk Journal Folio Kit, which brings together some of my favourite illustrations from the collection in a little printable folio project.

The kit includes coordinating folio elements featuring decorated Christmas trees, a festive wreath, ornate bells, a candy cane with a pretty bow, a vintage Santa and other seasonal details. There are also coordinating stripes and gingham patterns, along with a bonus folio backing paper to give you a little extra flexibility when putting everything together.

I love the way the different colours and patterns work together in this kit, especially the apricot stripes alongside the pink gingham and evergreen details. It feels festive and colourful without everything being the same, which is exactly what I wanted for this collection.

Once assembled, the folio makes a lovely little place to tuck away journaling cards, tags, notes and other paper treasures. You could also add your own journaling, photographs or little keepsakes to make it more personal.

Merrymaxxing Christmas Junk Journal Pages

I’ve also created a coordinating set of Merrymaxxing Christmas Junk Journal Pages, featuring full-page Christmas scenes in the same colourful, vintage-inspired style.

These pages are lovely for adding a little festive atmosphere to your journal, and they give you a starting point for creating your own Christmas stories, memories and journal spreads. You can use them as full pages, cut out smaller sections to use as decorative panels, or layer them with other papers and embellishments.

I wanted the pages to feel decorative and full of Christmas detail, while still leaving room for you to make them your own. You might add a few handwritten memories, tuck in a journaling card, or layer some fussy cuts over the top to bring out certain details in the illustrations.

They’re also lovely for mixing with the pieces from the folio kit, so you can carry the same colours and style throughout your journal.

Merrymaxxing Christmas Journaling Words & Bonus Fussy Cuts

And because it’s often the little details that bring a journal page together, I’ve created a Merrymaxxing Christmas Journaling Words & Fussy Cuts set to go with the collection.

The printable includes 29 unique Christmas words and phrases in four coordinating colourways, along with bonus fussy cuts featuring festive decorations and other little seasonal details.

There are phrases such as Merry & Bright, A Season of Wonder, More Bows, More Joy and Let the Christmas Sparkle Begin, which are perfect for adding a little sentiment or storytelling to your pages. Some are short and simple, while others are a little longer, so you can mix them up depending on the space you’re working with.

I particularly like word strips because they’re such an easy way to fill a little gap on a page, add a finishing touch to a tag or tuck a festive phrase into a pocket. And the bonus fussy cuts give you even more little pieces to play with, whether you use them as they are or layer them with your other embellishments.

Mix, Match and Make It Your Own

One of the things I love about printable junk journal kits is that you don’t have to use everything in exactly the same way, or even use all the pieces in one project. You can print your favourite pages, cut out the details you love most, and combine them with other papers and embellishments you already have in your stash.

With the Merrymaxxing Christmas collection, you could create a coordinated little folio, fill a Christmas junk journal with colourful pages, decorate tags and pockets, or use the journaling words and fussy cuts to add extra detail to your own handmade projects.

You could even mix the collection with some of your favourite plain papers, vintage book pages or neutral backgrounds if you want to give all those colourful Christmas decorations a little breathing room.

And of course, you don’t have to save everything for December! If you’re someone who enjoys getting a head start on Christmas crafting, this is a lovely collection to print and play with whenever the mood strikes.
