Boho Whimsigoth Halloween Junk Journal pages

If you love interactive elements, this one’s for you! The folio kit includes a folio base, 12 mix-and-match pockets and journaling cards, plus a folio backing pattern that you can assemble into a pocket-style folio. I use the folio as the base for my mini journal. I print the folio pieces onto matte 250gsm lightweight card.
Halloween Journaling Words & Fussy Cuts
The finishing touches! This Halloween Words & Fussy Cuts set includes:
- 32 journaling words and phrases in four colors – watercolor purple, watercolor orange, classic black, and white with a black border.
- 12 fussy cuts, including a whimsical witch with her black cat, a cauldron, jack-o’-lantern, gothic rose, spooky house, ghost, and more.
I print these on the same matte 250gsm lightweight card, cut them out, and use them to add that perfect finishing detail to my pages and pockets.
How to Use the Kits Together
You can use each kit on its own, or combine them to create a cohesive themed journal. Here’s what I did for my mini ‘folio’ journal:
- Printed all the folio pieces on matte 250gsm lightweight card for a nice sturdy finish.
- Printed the pages from the 6-page kit onto 100gsm copy paper. I printed double-sided at 70% size so they would fit perfectly inside the folio.
- Inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Shaded Lilac (my Amazon affiliate link) before assembling.
- Hand-stitched the pages into my folio with a three-hole pamphlet stitch, creating a mini journal that feels like a little keepsake book.
- Decorated the journal with pockets and cards from the folio kit, then used extra printed pages to tear and layer, creating more spots for ephemera and secret notes! Finally, I added word strips and fussy cuts to set the mood and tell a story.
